Description
Plastic Hexagon Domed Cap Nuts, conforming to DIN 1587 standard,
are Hex Nuts that protect the threaded portion of a fastener from
damage whilst reducing the risk of injury caused by a sharp or
uneven bolt thread.
Often referred to as Acorn Nuts, Crown Hex Nuts, Hex Cap Nuts or
Dome Nuts, this component features a raised dome on top – similar
to the shape of an acorn.
Found in residential construction or automotive applications, they
are typically used to provide an aesthetically pleasing finish and
in some cases, increase the performance of an application or
assembly.
The raised dome helps to reduce contact with the thread – ideal for
situations where shocks or vibrations could result in wear and
reduce its lifespan.
Supplied in a White (natural) colour as standard. These Plastic
Hexagon Domed Cap Nuts can be dyed in a variety of colours to meet
your requirements.
Manufactured from Nylon as standard – a cost-effective material
that is strong, lightweight and provides good resistance to water
and corrosion.

Applications
Dome nuts, sometimes called acorn nuts, are a versatile fastener
used for aesthetic and practical reasons wherever a bare screw
thread is a concern. Unlike using standard nut fixings, a dome nut
completely covers the end of a screw. As such, it can be used in
lieu of, or on top of, fastening nuts. These domed nuts can be used
to cap threaded bars or make sure a surface is snag-free.
Note:Cap nuts are mainly used for decorative screw connections. The
cap nut covers and protects the thread end. They are also used to
protect against sharp edges on machines, equipment, fitness
equipment and wherever people or objects could be injured or
damaged by an exposed thread end.
